If the biggest comics fan in your life is anything like mine buying a gift for them can be difficult. They think they’re easy to buy for and we know they are not! If you are extra lucky, they have provided you with a handy little list that has a lot of different options – hopefully they haven’t listed something that is really difficult to get and therefore given you an almost impossible task (it has happened to me – more on this later). If you have a list you are always welcome to check out the online store or come visit us in Cheltenham 3192, we are always happy to help and regular help find the perfect gift for comic fans. If however, there is no list, only vague suggestions, or “You know what I like….” Hopefully our list of ideas can help you out.

There are a lot of different ways to really appreciate the biggest comic fan in your life, here are just a few ideas:

• There are beautiful artists editions of comic books, to see and really value the art of a favourite artist and character. If your comic fan loves Hellboy, Mignola art, or Bill Sienkiewicz Moon Knight we have beautiful hard covers with detailed pages of comic art.
• You can spoil them and buy them the statuethey have been eyeing off. We have a range of great statues available and take great care when we ship them all over Australia.
• If they are a collector of single issue comics you can buy them packs of boards and bags.This is a great gift idea that is also a little practical. It means they can spend more of their money on buying new comics which we all know will make them happy. (It’s like buying someone underwear – they will definitely use them, but would prefer not to spend their own money on it!)
• Comic Boxes– they look great, can be used as a gift box and they are practical. These are great for anyone, it doesn’t even have to be a comic collector, they can be for someone who is a huge fan of Batman and you can buy them a box to put anything in.
• Special issues: this includes signed issues,special variants, oldercomic issues,graded We have an entire section of our website dedicated to signed issues. These are something a little nice and special. We have no doubt they will be appreciate by anyone who receives one.
• Omnibus or Library EditionsThese work really well when you know a comic fan who really wants to read an entire collection but is unable to locate the single issues, or hasn’t had the opportunity to purchase the graphic novel. They look fantastic on the shelf and are awesome to open and look through.
• Gift Cards– easy, gives you less stress and these can be purchased at any time right up to day before. You can purchase these online through our website and you can choose $10, $25, $50, or $100.

We hope this list helps even a little. If you know your comic fan loves a character (say Spider-man) but you’re not sure what book to get them next, contact us. We can help find a suitable story and hopefully avoid doubling up.

Now back to the almost impossible task. If you have been told about something that is extra difficult to find and you want to find it for them let us know. Recently we have tracked down a number of issues for customers and as gifts. We will talk to you about price and timeframe so you can make the choice as to go ahead or not. The more time you give us to locate and get in a comic book the better chance we have of getting the best possible price. Also as a lot of our comic books come from the U.S. they will take 2-3 weeks to arrive, and sometimes even longer due to ordering schedules. We also have a lot of books come through the store at different times. If we know you are looking for something and we see it in a new collection, or we are offered a book to purchase we are more likely to purchase it if we know you want it.
