Christmas Gift List - or WISH LIST

This year we are again compiling a list of fantastic comic books that can be used to help buy the perfect gift for the special people in your life! Or share this list with family and friends so they have ideas for YOU!

Now remember we have used categories to help simplify the list and provide an age-range guide – however you can buy these comics for anyone.

Comic books are a great way to move away from electronic gifts and encourage creativity, imagination and they can tie in with someone’s favourite character.

Gifts for under 5, 6, 7, 8- or 9-year olds.

Here is our list of books to buy for younger children:

Gifts for 10- 15 year olds

Gifts for 16-18 – these all have mature themes, language, and sexual content

Hopefully the list above helps you find the perfect gift for someone between the age of 5 and 20. Sometimes however it isn't that easy and instead a list of comic genres can help focus your search for the best comic related gift.

There are so many different comic books, different styles and genres. This can make finding the right comic a little difficult. Here are a couple of lists (with links) that can help.

Superhero:

Superhero but not superhero

These titles are great reads that incorporate a little of the standard superhero fair and add to it. With extra violence, horror humour, with a pinch more reality (Huck) and the other end of the spectrum, extra absurd (Sex Criminals I'm thinking of you). Read the synopsis for each and you'll understand why they are on the list.

Sci-Fi & Fantasy

I can admit to being a HUGE fan of both Sci-Fi and fantasy. I could easily write an entire blog just on these. I have limited myself and I hope the sci-fi and fantasy fans in your life appreciate any of the comics you choose for them.

Horror, History & something a little different

Below is a real mix of horror and comic books that are a little different. The list begins with horror titles and half way down begins with the unique and different titles. We have some fantastic comics that manage to be really creative with the medium and provide something a little different. Drawn and Quarterly provides a great place for these stories to be published.
